Council Should Work for the Current Citizens

I reiterate a position I have previously stated: it is the residents (almost exclusively the present ones) whose interests are to be optimized. It is not folks from New York or Missouri who might wish to live here because we have a reputation as a nice place to retire. It is not the land-leeches who would plow under the corn and sunflowers to plant houses, make a buck, and depart. It is we ourselves, communally, who shall be made happy.

Were it to be unavoidable that the population should grow, the incoming people may be accommodated, but even that must be determined to be in the interest of present residents.
